Coly

Submitted By Simon Brix (Briix)

Description

Ladies and gentlemen, we present to you Coly. A style focused on minimalism and usability, but with a dedication to beauty.
This style is entirely written in CSS3, and thus runs smoothly and elegantly, and with transition-duration, we managed to put in some javascript-like animation, to make the whole thing even more fancy.

As of version 1.0, Coly features 5 variatiants: Default, spring, summer, autumn and winter. All of these also come without the timestamps.

This was based on a style by Patrick D, then modded by Kat, and then recoded and rebranded by Simon & Fritjof. We're two danish sixteen year old students, and we're starving, so if you wanna throw money at us, go right ahead.

This is a loving and loyal tribute to Mochastyle, but should be considered more of an inspiration than an imitation.

And don't forget to download the status icons, which can be found here: http://adiumxtras.com/index.php?a=xtras&xtra_id=7008

# by mrmac on 09/08/09 at 10:54:20

awesome style.
i have a request tho :P

can you please make a variant that has the names before the >> (arrows)

# by Briix on 09/08/09 at 11:40:59

We'll be adding a group variant for v1.1, so hopefully that'll do it for you. In that skin, however, the name will replace the arrows, we have no plans of having both in one. ;)

# by av3ry on 09/11/09 at 10:55:18

wow, I really like this!
there are a couple of styles I can't decide between, but I think this one is definitely the winner at the moment :)

# by Spookster on 09/13/09 at 15:23:36

your goal of minimalism and usability succeded marvelously - this is one of the best msgstyles i've seen so far!

# by dcentity2000 on 09/15/09 at 00:27:47

Nice!

# by marforic on 10/13/09 at 20:30:47

It's very nice, and I'm looking forward to the new version 1.1 with group variant.
I have one question, when I try to select text it shows really all messed up, is that a known issue?

# by Briix on 10/13/09 at 20:36:51

Thank you ! :)
And yes, it is a known issue .. it is possible to select text, you just have to be very precise - we're working on it!

# by marforic on 10/13/09 at 20:42:53

Yes yes, I tried (it's the first thing that I try in a theme, since Im very picky) - Copy/Pasting works good (i.e. no timestamps for every line!), but the look is pretty messed up! :)

# by adamrobertt on 10/14/09 at 06:58:40

Really love it, but is it possible to get a version with usernames?

# by Antony_Benjiro on 11/18/09 at 17:46:16

looks good, but can you make light version like white+silver apple style?

# by Briix on 11/18/09 at 23:50:33

Don't count on that - but feel free to mod Coly :)

# by Merlish on 11/27/09 at 11:22:29

(Hi, I'm the second guy working on this)
Actually, the Rainy Day variation will be added as of 1.6, should be what you're looking for. ;) Past Briix is sorry he didn't know, but seeing the future can be difficult.

# by metaphysical on 11/20/09 at 01:06:33

plzplzplz make a lighter bg scheme :)

# by Briix on 11/20/09 at 01:12:11

Have you tried the Spring or Summer variant?

# by samdale67 on 11/26/09 at 19:12:07

Hi there. I have spent untold hours looking through these themes for the right aesthetic. You've got it with Coly. THANKS. One thing that I have observed is that when I change the font from the default, incoming messages are smaller than outgoing messages. Are you following me? What could be causing this? Thanks, Sam.

# by samdale67 on 11/26/09 at 19:25:22

An addendum to my previous post: when you change the font size, the preview shows incoming and outgoing messages as the same size.

# by Briix on 11/26/09 at 19:29:43

I'm glad you liked it :) and thanks for reminding me about the bug. It appears because I chose to define the font in the css, and therefore Adium doesn't quite know how to handle it - will be fixed in 1.6 !

# by Kore on 12/02/09 at 21:00:51

Excellent style. I just have one question: how do I turn off the all-caps? it's making me crazy!

# by Briix on 12/03/09 at 00:55:59

I'm not quite sure, what you mean by all-caps?

# by Kore on 12/03/09 at 01:06:02

I tried changing the font in the style preferences to no avail...

# by Briix on 12/03/09 at 01:13:10

Uhmm.. are you sure, that you have turned of Caps-lock? because, it makes no sense. I haven't made it a "all-caps" theme - you can just look in the screenshots

# by Kore on 12/04/09 at 01:00:09

I found the solution. You have to have installed the Calibri font series... otherwise it acts weird. At least to me.

# by Briix on 12/04/09 at 01:02:52

I'm glad you found the solution. I think I know what the problem is, and I'll fix it in 1.6

# by scissorjammer on 03/04/10 at 23:17:23

Here's a new colorscheme i made based off of vim's desert scheme:

It looks like this:

# by p_ghede on 08/12/10 at 09:01:30

Very nice.
But we expect an overall awesomeness index above 9000 in the next version ^_^

# by Faraday on 09/27/10 at 07:53:35

Looks super awesome! One small caveat though, is there a possibility of a style without scrollbars? :3

# by sceptiQ on 10/08/10 at 14:22:19

i want to decide which font im gonna use.. :/

# by redheadjessica on 11/02/10 at 19:08:19

This is awesome, but when you paste (even on the ones without timestamps), the timestamps appear... :(

See example below:

I've been installing themes like a madman, and this is the first one I've seen which is properly minimal! There's only one problem though, it doesn't work right!

First off, you're assuming a case insensitive filesystem. You have a folder called IMG, but sometimes you refer to it as img in the CSS, and other times as IMG. This is messing up the theme on my Mac. I think I've fixed that, but there's still another problem...

There's TONS of useless newlines in the theme on my end for some reason. You can see what the bug looks like here: http://min.us/mdAUc4l

# by Briix on 07/07/11 at 22:57:48

Thank you for the kinds words!
And for the bugs, hit me up on gtalk or msn or w/e. You can find my mail on my profile. I'll try and see if I can sort out your problems :-)
