TO CHANGE FONT SIZE:
Go to ~/Library/Application Support/Adium 2.0/Message Styles
Right click on iMessages.AdiumMessageStyle and choose Show Package Contents
Continue to... Contents/Resources/main.css
Open main.css and remove the line (which is in the 'body' css section):
font-size: 12px;
Save file and restart adium, you should be able to change font size in the Preferences now.
