Timed Greeting

Description

This little script sends a predetermined message to a contact based on the current time. Its ideal for sending messages by using buddy alerts to run an applescript. The time periods are Morning (12 am -11:59 am) Afternoon (12 pm - 5:59 pm) Night (6 pm -11:59 pm). You can edit the messages using applescript.

There are two versions. Here's how to use them:
  • Profile/Status Message: /timedgreeting
  • Buddy Alert: Double-click a name on your buddy list, type shift+apple+i, click alerts, change the event to whatever you want, click browse, find Timed Greeting (Alert).scpt,click ok, click ok.

Greetings are now edited using dialogs (much easier).

Interesting script. Most of my contacts are in time zones all over the world. I can never figure their time :D
