Numbered IMs (NIMS) |
| Submitted By Daniel Reeves (dreeves) |
DescriptionNIMS eliminates the possibility of a missed IM (when both parties have NIMS installed) by automatically numbering outgoing IMs and checking that incoming IMs, if numbered, are consecutive. You can turn numbering on and off for whoever you're talking to by typing "/nims".Changes1.5.1 (2009-09-10)Numbering is now off by default and only affects conversations you explicitly turn it on for. (Do that by typing /nims to the person you're chatting with.) 1.5 Works with both mac osx 10.4 and 10.5 now. Allows you to turn numbering off by default for new chats with /nimsdef. 1.0 Initial version CommentsYou can reply to individual comments by clicking the "Reply" link next to each. # by dreeves on 04/29/09 at 04:27:55Thanks xworld21. Over AIM the numbers stay gray as intended. As for emoticons, I prefer to turn those off anyway. But you're right; we'll comment again here when we get those quirks ironed out. Bethany and I find this to be godsend though. It has saved us much grief in the past months!
# by writingbrittany on 10/26/09 at 16:15:06Hey I was hoping to add this to my Adium- a friend tends to lose internet connection in some weird way and sometimes she doesn't get the IM's I send when she's been kicked off and I don't know it.
Well anyway, I keep trying to install the plugin, but it won't, and when I tried to download it a page came up saying the download has been disabled. I keep trying to install instead but when I check Adium Xtras Manager its not on there. Dang! Is there a reason for this? Will it be back up again? # by dreeves on 03/27/11 at 05:29:16Sorry for the hiatus on NIMS development. We still use it all the time ourselves and it works fine. We just need to get it added as an Adium Xtra again. In the meantime you can grab it from here: http://yootles.com/nims
